This Privacy Policy explains how Preferans handles information when you use the iOS app.

Information We Collect

Preferans is a card game app. The app does not collect real-money payment information, location, contacts, health data, photos, or advertising identifiers.

When you use online play, the app may process:

  • A server-issued guest account identifier, or your Sign in with Apple user identifier when you choose Apple sign-in.
  • Your display name.
  • Room codes, room participation details, game state, bids, cards, turns, and score data needed to run an online game.
  • Basic timestamps such as when a room or game event was created or updated.

When you use the app locally without online room features, gameplay data is handled on your device.

How We Use Information

We use information only to:

  • Create and manage online game rooms.
  • Let invited players identify who joined a room.
  • Synchronize game actions and scoring between players.
  • Authenticate your online account, list your games, and resume unfinished games.
  • Provide support if you contact us.

Preferans does not sell your personal information. If tracking or attribution features are enabled, Preferans asks for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before accessing tracking data. You can decline tracking and continue using the app.

Apple Services

Preferans uses Sign in with Apple when you choose it. The app sends Apple’s identity token and a one-time nonce to the Preferans room service so the token’s signature, issuer, audience, expiry, and nonce can be verified. The identity token is not used as your ongoing game credential.

Live room accounts, participation, and resume state are processed by the Preferans room service hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure. Information handled by Apple and Cloudflare is also subject to their respective privacy practices.

Local Storage

The app stores a limited online profile in local app storage and stores the account session credential in iOS Keychain. Room-scoped seat credentials may also be cached locally so you can resume a game.

Data Sharing

We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers. Online room information is shared only as needed with players who join the same room.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the app, users, or developer rights.

Data Retention

Online room and gameplay records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to operate multiplayer and maintain app functionality. Local profile data remains on your device until you sign out, delete the app, or clear the app’s data. Deleting an online account removes its server profile, sessions, game library, room credentials, and display identity. Shared game results may retain the deleted player’s seat and score in anonymized form so the remaining participants’ match history stays coherent.

Children

Preferans is not intended to collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Your Choices

You can:

  • Use local play without joining online rooms.
  • Sign out in the app to remove the locally stored online profile.
  • Use Delete online account in Settings to permanently delete the server account and game library, remove your identity and credentials from rooms, and clear the local profile and Keychain session from your device.
  • Delete the app to remove local app data from your device.
  • Contact us to request help with privacy questions.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
